So at this point i need a few new games for my gaming desktop....and i also could use a cheap card to run in a secondary rig of mine that runs on a 1280x1024

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814150340

iv got a 20$ credit from newegg

So its $128.46 shipped etc

Which equates to...$108.46

Do you guys think its worth it?....i guess not considering it is the slowest gso there is...are there any low psu requiering 8 series cards with comparable performance to look out for? of course these would be without games...

Iv seen the 4670...does it have much overclocking potential if properly cooled? i can pretty much get one for way cheap after the 20$ removal...

Does appollo make good cards? i could get it for a bit less then that his?

EDIT:just noticed the appollo has 256mb less...now i know that at 1280x1024 i don't need a ton of power so how much performance do you think i would see between 512mb...im thinking its worth the extra 10$

What are some other low power operations you guys could recommend me? im thinking the 4670 will be more then enough to do what i need it to do but im more then open to suggestions...

BTW i could care less that the his comes with a game....especially stalker...and if i didn't mention it im limited ALOT on the psu...of course thats pretty easy to tell by the card selection

Also!

I know i could google this but...

Can anyone link me to reviews of the new 4770? and i believe the 4750?

Should i wait for these? its not important this rig is setup atleast for another month and even if it taps down the price of the 4670 it wouldn't be a bad thing to wait atm

Edit:Thank you for the replys the above in my post was submitted before either of you posted btw so anyways.....

Thanks again

Im definitely getting quite excited for the performance vs price ratio its looking to be pretty bitching....

But if i end up having to upgrade the psu it won't be worth it  just need a low end gaming machine :)

Im hoping this thing can overclock...it doesn't look good from the suggestions of a "leaky process" at higher clocks but im hopeful

Thanks for your help Jay!

I know iv checked in on all of the other forum discussions on the gpu as i could find and it looks like my psu should do just fine 😗

Its unfreakin believable what 100$ will get you though.... 😱

A user or two where suggesting ati would mostly use this gpu as a test bed for 40nm and that it won't be a true "example" of what the next gen 40nm tech will show us or something like that...pretty much saying that we shouldn't expect much at all on really overclocking it

And 80 watts is of course peak load right? its probably a stupid question but say you only max this card stably at 50%(hypothetical steady %) wouldn't it be far below that? by how far?

Just wondering as an idea on how much load = watts :??:

Under real life conditions, youll see it at less than 80 watts in most situations, tho theres exceptions. Using furmark for example could elevate this higher than desired, or higher than 80 watts.
As to its oceeing, I dont see why it wouldnt do well, but who knows. Coming in at a 750 clock, it may just oc ok, maybe a bit better than what we see at 55nm, possibly 850Mhz

Alright that is interesting to know

Of course that guys suggestion has no backbone its possible....anyways thanks for the responses looks like its time to play the waiting game :??:
