Opinions about Upgrade?

I built my PC in late May of 2016, and used some components that I intended to upgrade later on, well that time has finally come.

My current setup before my upgrade is as follows: http://

It's a decent setup and has taken everything I've thrown at, but the i3 has definitely held it back from its full potential so to speak. That's why I'm upgrading.

My setup after the planned upgrade: http://

Although I'm not changing much, I do think I will see a good performance boost from the new i5, as well some lower noise levels from after-market cooler. I also bought some Noctua case fans to help with cooling and noise a bit more, that weren't included in the list. As far as compatibility I have updated the BIOS of my board so it should accept the new Kaby Lakes, and the cooler should have enough clearance to fit in the case from some reviews I've seen of it.

I would love to hear some other opinions about the upgrade, and most importantly if you see any compatibility issues I haven't noticed.

Your plan looks good to me.
Look into the scythe kotetsu cooler for a similar price.
Here is a glowing review:

I5-7600k is supported as of bios 3007

You buy a K to overclock.
Here is what you can expect:
As of 1/13/17
What percent of samples can get an overclock
at a vcore around 1.4v.
I5-7600K
5.1 28%
5.0 52%
4.9 72%
What do you currently do with your pc? I think that is going to be the deciding factor as to whether you'll actually notice any difference in Cpu. Just because you can benchmark a difference, often times you won't actually notice any difference.

I use it for internet use and gaming, the main reason I'm upgrading to the i5 is since I play a lot of RTS and strategy games which usually do much better with 4 cores rather than 2. I also can't play some current titles at all since they don't support dual cores.
On a side note, do you know if the board I have, the z170 series supports Kaby Lake? I thought it did after a BIOS update which I did do, but the other replier has me a bit concerned now.
