Want to build a game server what would be a good mother board? for COD single or dual cpu? and memorie sugestion . im petty hip with the rest . it seems theres is very little on this subject.

How many computers are you looking at supporting on the network? Number/type of simultaneous games?

30 players 40 would be nice but dont have too , runing 1 game at a time .My conection is the upper offer from bellsouth DSL but i also can get cable thru comcast matter of fact i have a new RCA cable modem in the box , I would need a router Cisco makes nice ones . BUT i read my down and upload is cap by the isp. so things could bottle neck but thats what i red. I have a pent 4 -2,66 ghz i could use if i upgrade my intel rig. Im working on a 3800+ as my game set up. but when im finish i like to build the server. for COD wish is not a intense graphic game. Im all ears.

Check the game options. It will tell you how many people you can realistically serve on the connection you have. Download speed does not matter much, It is the upload speed for game servers.
As an example I have DSL. 1.5 download but 256 upload. This means I can only host 8 player games in Battlefield. Because of the slow upload speed.
Different games have different requirements . So check your game stats with your upload speed and see where you stand.

I aint signing nothing!!!

i was afraid you were going to mention dual, then you scare me to death with the 1Gb NIC. i have an idea of the dual mobo prices i look at them before but what do 1Gb NIC are going for? "more of less" aprox?
