Opinions on ACER AL1731

I'm considering replacing my old KDS 19" CRT monitor with a 17" LCD. According to web searches, the Prophetview DVI series was supposedly a great gaming monitor. However, it seems to have been discontinued. I did some research, and the ACER AL1731 has the same Hydis manufactured LCD panel. Tom still says the Hydis panel is better then some newer monitors, like the Samsung 172x. However, there is an extreme paucity of reviews available, at least in English. Does anyone have any experience with this monitor, good or bad? Thanks.

Got this one on a discounted price about 3 months ago. I have also had no issues running far cry, doom or hl2 - apart from the 1280x780 native resolution. The 20ms response rate isn't too great but zero ghosting!

All in all a pretty damn good bang for yer buck imo.

I got this about a month ago. Overall, I'm quite pleased. As Tom had mentioned about the Hydis panel, it displays not ghosting that I can see, even having a 20ms response time. My only complaint is that it seems a bit bright around the borders, and it does not do a true black.
