Opinions on Asus z87 deluxe quad

I'm looking to build a new computer but am stuck on the motherboard. I will mostly be using it for photoshop and gaming. I do plan to overclock. Processor will be 4770k. My problem is that at least for the near future I need it to have wifi. My router is asus ac. The Asus deluxe quad meets all my needs, but is expensive and likely overkill. I want something that is up to date. The Z87 pro only has wireless N. The hero has great sound but would require a wireless card. It seems like which ever way I go my price ends up around $300. The deluxe quad comes with thunderbolt 2 and at $320 it seems like such a small step for this. Is thunderbolt even worth having? Will there ever be reasonably prices thunderbolt accessories or will USB 3 be the ubiquitous victor and eventually outpace it anyway? Are there better alternatives?

I'd go the Hero and a USB wireless myself (I did in sig), but might look at the Z87 Pro from Asus, it has wireless N built in as you mentioned, haven't heard much positive about Thunderbolt
