Opinions on if upgrading would be worthwhile

Hello! This is my current build:

FX-6300 OC'd to 4.5 GHz
Sapphire RX 480 8GB Nitro
8 GB DDR3 1600 MHz RAM

I would be upgrading to this:

Ryzen 5 1600 with plans to OC
Keeping Sapphire RX 480 8GB Nitro
16 GB DDR4 3000 MHz RAM

Obviously at face value this is quite an upgrade. My issue is that in terms of gaming, I am targeting 1080p 60fps, which I am doing pretty okay with for the most part currently. My monitor is the limiting factor on this and I do not plan to get a new one for a while. I would also have to buy a new motherboard to switch to this new platform along with these parts.

Essentially I worry about the idea that my CPU may be holding back some of my investment into the RX 480, along with the fact that in terms of future-proofing this would be a big help especially in CPU intensive games. Do you guys think that it's worth doing this upgrade at this point? The total for the upgrade will ballpark at around $450-$500.

In my opinion, yes. I've got a FX 6300 in my spare build and it already has troubles keeping up in a lot of recent games. A Ryzen 5 1600 and 16GB DDR4 3000 MHz is an excellent pairing. It should help plenty of games especially those that are CPU intensive. I'd expect a build like this with a RX 480 8GB to get High/Ultra in most games at 1080p 60 FPS. Hope this helps :)
