Hey guys! Forgive me if this isn't the correct place to post this, but I figured it was close enough. Anyway, I'm in need of a large, nearly desk size, mouse pad, such as the ones I'm about to link, but I'm having a difficult time making a decision. Between the two, which would you choose? Or is there a better pad out there at roughly the same size for the same price? I'm having a hard time choosing between the two because their descriptions are nearly identical. I'm thinking I should go with the more expensive one because it is normally... More expensive. (Which makes me think it would be higher quality.) Also, if it helps at all, I use a wired optical mouse. Suggestions?

likely the 5mm. i've used both thick and thin pads and the thicker pads are certainly much nicer to use and hold up better. the thin pads tend to curl or crumple up a bit. i gifted a 3mm mat before and while it sure looked nice [printed graphic] it crumples up, edges roll and if there is anything under the pad you feel every bump. thicker pads are a little more forgiving.

i have a 1/4" thick pad i keep with the laptop [love the thickness] though for my main pad i use a tekmat which is about 1/8 thick. unless they have sewn edges eventually they will wear and the fabric will start peeling at the edges but thats normal wear and tear.

Thanks for the help. I was leaning towards the thicker one over the more expensive one too because the thicker the pad, the less sound my keyboard will make. (My computer is directly above another room, so my typing tends to bother some people below me. Thin walls and stuff. xD)
