Opinions on MSI R7950 Twin Frozr iii?

A few days ago I met up with a guy on craigslist for some free water cooling parts and graphics cards. Turns out he had way more than I thought. The list included tons of radiators, a few cpu blocks, a pump, tubing, liquid solutions, and much more. On the gpu side I received two gtx 580's, one being water cooled and two R7950, with one also being water cooled. As a 'little' bonus, he also had an 850w modular psu, and an Asus P67 mobo with a core i5 3570 and 16 gb of corsair ram pre-installed in it. I breadboarded the new components just to make sure they won't blow up my computer and they all worked fine. Since I currently have a 1gb 750 ti, would it be a good idea to use the R7950? it seems like a solid 3gb card but it is over 5 years old. Any opinions? Thanks!

On tom's gpu hierarchy chart, the 7950 is three tiers higher in performance than a GTX750ti:

From a performance point of view, that is a reasonable upgrade.

You will need 150w more power from your psu and will need to handle the added heat generated.
You will also need to change the graphics driver from nvidia to amd.

Why not try it?

I forgot to check the hierarchy I even have it bookmarked lol. I currently have a 450w gpu and everytime I tried to load a game using the 7950 the display would turn off (not enough wattage). The 850w is pretty unusable at the moment because there is no modular sata cable so would a 600w psu be enough to run just one card?

Yes a 600W PSU should be more than enough for your system with 7950.

But... psu quality counts.
A cheap psu will not deliver advertised power where it counts(12v)
