I am building my first ever PC and I have done my best to research the parts and what is recommended for what I am trying to build. This is going to be used for light-ish gaming and as a workstation which will eventually support two screens (when i have the money). I'm 14 so not much income.

Here are the parts I thinking about so far:

  • AMD APU A8 7670k black edition CPU

    HyperX FURY 8 GB (2x4gb) DDR3 1866MHz

    Gigabyte F2A68HM-HD2 motherboard

Silence 500W ATX PC Power Supply PSU With 12CM Silent Fan And SATA / 24 PIN / 4 PIN / MOLEX (done very little research on power supplies so far)

WD Caviar Blue 500GB SATAIII 6Gb/s 3.5 inch internal Had drive OEM
probably made some ignorant mistakes here especially with compatibility

I'm just looking for opinions I am very open to suggestions as to how to get the best for my money. I am partly building this PC to learn how to make them.

Many thanks, Matthew

Thanks for the reply and the recommendation of the HHD I think i'm going to use it. I have heard that you can pair APUs such as the have chosen with low end graphics card to give it a boost in its graphic processing performance. If you know anything about this.

thanks again, matt

This is true but I would recommend going with a graphics card that isn't below $100.

This graphics card supports direct X12 and can play most games at 60 FPS. Adding in a graphics card helps out the processor a lot (Since the graphics in an A8 isn't too good) but going with a $50 graphics will not help it too much, so that 1050 linked above is the sweetspot.

sorry bit new to this but what is directX and how does it help. Thanks for the advice
