Opinions on SLI 8x/8x i7-7700K vs 16x/16x i7-6850K

I'm still new to the graphics arena, but would like to your opinions on what performance I'd see that would justify going from a:

SLI - Dual Titan X Pascals
8X / 8X on a Asus Z270E motherboard
i7-7700K

vs.

SLI - Dual Titan X Pascals
16X / 16X on a Asus X99 Deluxe II motherboard
i7-6850K

Are the gains worth it or negligible?

Does the 16X / 16X alone justify going for the extra bandwidth over the faster 7700K cpu?

This would be for gaming purposes.

If you're going to go dual Titans go 6850k. Silly to spend 3300 on GPUs and then skimp on parts. Just making sure you do know SLI is almost useless in many newer games.
