Hello guys, greetings from Argentina.
I am planning on replacing my current rig, which has given me so much joy and productivity over many years. It is a Core i7 2600, AsRock Z77 Pro3, 16GB G.Skill Sniper 2400MHz and MSI GTX970 Gaming 4G. Also a few Samsung 850 EVO SATA SSDs and Corsair H60i cooling.
I always wanted a clean ITX build so that's what's in my head right now. The new components would be:

-Intel Core i7 8700k
-Gigabyte Z390 AORUS Pro WiFi ITX
-2x16GB G.Skill TridentZ RGB 3200MHz
-500GB Samsung EVO 970 NVMe SSD + the current Sata SSDs
-1TB 7200 rpm WD Blue for storage

And for now I think I will have to keep the GTX970, probably going to upgrade to a 1070TI or 2070 next year.

Now the main info: What I use the computer for. I am a mechanical engineer and work with parametric CAD and 3D printing software, and also enjoy some casual gaming at night.
I have a Dell U2515H monitor with a resolution of 2560x1440 at 60Hz.

What do you think about my build? I chose the Z390 platform so I have room to upgrade to an i9 in the future, and the cost of the board is similar to Z370 models.
Also, I think I will have to upgrade the H60i for the 8700k, maybe get a 240mm AIO.

Thank you for reading.

I forgot to mention, I currently have a SeaSonic M12II EVO 620W PSU, which is about 2 years old. I think it is a pretty good piece of hardware and should do OK with the new setup!

I think the H60i will be ok at stock speeds to get you going, if you want to overclock you'll need to upgrade most likely.
Is the 9700K available and is there much price difference? they perform close to the same but I would go for the newer CPU personally if there wasn't much price difference.

And Greetings from New Zealand, good to see a post from the right half of the planet :)

Thank you both. The i7 9700k would be available with a 60 USD price difference. At first I did not consider it because it doesn't have Hyperthreading (its a 8-core, 8-thread CPU vs. the 6-core, 12-thread of the 8700k) but apparently it outperforms it by a small margin in every aspect. I don't know if that gain is worth 60 bucks though. Right now the prices of harware are fluctuating a lot, I think there is a shortage in CPU and RAM supply in the USA (A family member lives there and I will be buying this parts on Amazon or Newegg, they will bring them to me in a few weeks). Any idea of what's going on with prices right now? Maybe I shoud wait a few days before buying.
I should have bought the i7 on Black Friday, it was $339 on Newegg but I thought that was the regular price, my bad.
