Hi there,

I am buying a PC for the first time in 9 years and looking to spend around £1100.

I want to play 1440p and get at least 100 frames on games such as Mordhau and PUBG. I am currently playing on a machine that has an I5 2500k and 1060 6gb, but it's starting to feel it's age.

I am really torn between the 5700 XT (gigabyte) and the 2070 super (gigabyte). I know there is not much between them, but do you think that the 2070 will be more future proof in the long run? Or is it not worth the additional bucks?

This is the machine that i have in mind and was wondering what your thoughts were on the parts? Any better suggestions to make the PC last longer?

-Cooler Master MasterCase H500 Gaming Case - Grey
-MSI B450 TOMAHAWK MAX AMD Socket AM4 Motherboard
-AMD Ryzen 5 3600X 3.8GHz Hexa Core CPU
-16GB Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 3200MHz
-Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER Windforce 8GB
-Samsung 860 EVO 500GB 2.5" SATA III SSD (I have other drives from my old PC)
-Seasonic Core GC 650W 80+ Gold PSU
-Cryorig H7 Plus CPU Tower Cooler with 2 x 120mm Fans

Thanks for your help

Intel 660p is faster, and often cheaper, than that 860 Evo. I would recommend more ram, and a 3700x, as well, unless you plan to maybe upgrade to a 4th gen CPU, at the end of the year.

Yeah I had been looking at the 3700x but adding that took it over my budget. Perhaps it might be best to wait until the next CPUs come out?
