[SOLVED] Opinions on this build please

My uses would be: gaming at 4k, video conversion, light video editing,
So for 4K gaming more of the gaming load shifts to the GPU so you really don't need that 9700K, the 2700X would work just as good and would be better for editing due to the extra cores/threads. I would keep the 32gb of memory. Changing the CPU to the 2700 (W/aftermarket cooler) as well as the PSU (better quality for much cheaper) saves you nearly $400.

The part quality/choices could be good depending on the uses. If it's for gaming we need to know resolution/refresh rate as that could drastically change the CPU/GPU. If your just gaming then 32gb of memory isn't needed but if your doing video editing/rendering then it may be justified.

While it is a higher end build spending $2,400 just on the tower may not be needed and could be spent on other parts of the build such as the monitor, peripherals or even VR.

At 4K, I'd aim for a 2080TI and make some tradeoffs elsewhere to allow for this.

Something along these lines:

Drops you to 16GB... which may/may not be sufficient for your use cases. I would assume it's at least workable, if not ideal.

Or, a Ryzen offering which should be plenty capable for gaming at 4K, and beneficial for editing/conversion.

8c/16t, 2080TI and keeps your 32GB of RAM for right around the original proposed pricepoint.

You could save further and have more storage by changing the 970 EVO to the 500gb version then getting a 2TB HDD.

Or use those savings for the 2080 ti.

I don't really want to go AMD. I think I'll change the evga power supply to a Seasonic Focus Plus 750 Platinum. Is there a lower cost Z390 motherboard that still has wifi and USB C? I might also drop the memory down to 16gb but I am not sure yet. Is there another memory that is better than the Corsair Vengeance 3200?
