Opinions on this high end build

[Potential]

Hello Toms Hardware community! This is my first ever build. The computer that I'm typing on and that I play games on is 7 - 8 years old. Its a dell and it's been running amazingly even though its outdated by 8 years, I've had absolutely no problems with it at all. Also I play games for about 30+ hours each week and my FPS is about 20-30 so I definitely need a new computer .
Hopefully my new build will be flawless and will run games at max with 60+ FPS. Anyways lets get started. My build is posted below. Let me know what you think about it and what you would change. Also let me know if everything is compatible with eachother.

Not the video card I would like to recommend, but it should all be alright. You also don't really need the Arctic Silver.

That's alot of money for a power supply as well. Do you plan on SLI?

Why wouldn't you recommend it? Its basically a GTX 660 TI but "Topped" which I think is factory overclocked. Also I thought I needed thermal paste to apply my after market cpu fan to my cpu?

As for the power supply, I know its a lot of money but I got an amazing deal on it. Like 28% off and its 80 plus gold. I might SLI in the near future but I have no plans on it at the moment.

I just prefer the Radeons is all. And that fan comes with thermal paste. If you want to SLI, you might need a bigger power supply.

Ya I agree with Deemo13. I think you are over spending on the power supply. There are a good number of 750W PSU's under $100 that would be more than adequate. The only other thing I'd look at is the video card. For the money you are spending on the rig I think you could go with a GTX 670, HD 7950 or 7970.

I'll look into a power supply. As for the graphics card, I'm still thinking about sticking with the one I have. The GTX 670 from what I've heard is basically the same card as the 660 ti but with a 256 bit memory interface instead of the GTX 660 ti's 192 bit memory interface. I'm not to sure of picking an AMD graphics card but I'll look into it.

Heres some bench, basically GTX 660 ti is a bit faster than hd 7870. While, 7950 boost can compete with GTX 670. HD 7970 can compete with GTX 680. HD 7970 ghz is a tier by itself. Currently, HD 7870 is the best price/perf on the market

They recommended HD 7870 in the article but for some reason didn't put it in the best value per segment chart.

Radeon cards basically gets better the higher the a.a. or resolution.



Idk the price for you region, choose whichever one you think is the best for your $

I would also take a look at a different SSD. OCZ have been known to have issues and that price seems high for 128GB. TigerDirect has the 256GB version for 129 after $30 MIR until thursday. Check out the deals for today on the homepage here.

I also second the 7870 from a price/performance standpoint. Unless you must have an nvidia card.
