Optane memory module

My first build!!! Planning on running windows 10 on my m.2 970 pro, would an additional m.2 optane memory module benefit the sata hdd’s in my system?
Evga X299 ftw k, i9 7940x
Stuffed in an old Dell XPS 710 case

Optane will not run on anything earlier than a Kaby Lake based CPU. No exceptions. i9 7940x is a Processor Core - Skylake-X which precedes the Kaby Lake-X models.

After replacing CPU you could spend $40 for Optane drive as cache to a mechanical drive. As an alternative you could just buy a SSD drive to replace the mechanical drive.
