Optane memory on i5 6200U laptop

I have Acer Aspire E15 with m2 slot. Which runs on i5 6200U + 940mx 2GB + 16Gb DDR4 memory + 1TB HDD. I was thinking of Intel Optane 32Gb. Does it work on my system and would it help?

Nope it doesnt work with your system, since Optane is Gen 7 and up. But if you want, buy a 500gb 970 Samsung Evo NVMe, and that would speed it up a bit

I'd confirm the laptop in question has support for M.2 NVME (as opposed to the goofy M.2 SATA *only* form factor that many laptops use) before committing to the otherwise excellent 970 EVO...
