getting 3ghz will require water cooling 2.6 to 2.8 you can do on air, with the new 4 heat pipe stock cooler that ships with opterons.

I know I really need to get the DFI board. I'm not questioning your suggestion or the boards integrity...

I *have* the Asus A8N32-SLI Deluxe...and it fits perfectly with the whole case mod theme I'm going for with the heatpipe and the blue/grey etc.

If I have a prayer of getting to 3ghz with this board I'd really like to keep it...If not, well, it's going on eBay like everything else!! Performance is much more important to me than looks :wink:

www.dfi-street.com is your friend, they tell you the model numbers of what opterons hit 3ghz. You should go for the 170 with the 10x multiplyer and head over to dfi-street they have tons and tons of info.
