Opteron 165 or 170? (or cheaper X2?)

I recently order a Opteron 165 but I'm thinking I should have payed the extra for the 170 as I heard it has a higher multiplier? I was planning to overclock either to high ends on air cooling.

So should I send back my 165 when I get it? And get a 170?

And now that I've heard they lower prices on X2 by 20% should I get one of those instead? (though I heard the opterons are the better quality chips)

As you said you are planning on OCing, it won't much matter, as both cpus will likely max out around 2.7-2.9G, regardless of starting point....

I second the opty

I have a opty 165 myself OC to 2.6 on air (stable) and the opty 170 oc to 2.6 on air (stable)...I can't see any difference between the two in any of the benchmarks that I have ran, but if you where running stock then there would be just a little difference just because of the higher clock rate of the opty 170
other than that...their the same really!

BTW..good choice of proc
