Optical Drive making strange tapping noise?

Hello, I just built a new computer and my optical drive is making an odd clicking/tapping noise when their is no DVD inserted, what is this and should I be worried?

If it is reading and writing up to spec, I would ignore it. If the sound gets loud, I would return it.
