Optical drive not dtected in BIOS but Mechanical drive is

Like the title says, I can't figure out why my optical drive is not showing up, I have even replaced both the sata power and data cables

I'd recommend that you try the OD with a different computer, to see if the same thing happens again. Also try to reinstall or update its driver, to see if that fixes things up. You could try resetting/updating the BIOS as well.
Basically there's not much you can do about it. If neither of those methods proves useful, then I'd suggest that you get in touch with the reseller you got it from, to see if you can get it replaced, if it's still under warranty.
