Hello everyone.

I really need help with my proyect.

I have a Dell optilex 7040 sff and I want to make my gaming desktop with that.

I already buy a zotac 1070 ti mini (which I think that will not fit in my case but taking of the psu is the case I think it will fit. .

I I realized that the cable that feed my motherboard is 8 pin

my knowledge about hardware is 3 in 10

My idea is:

1-to take off the original power supply from the original sff case

2- to but a new psu that I will keep outside of the case and can run the 1070ti mini

3- and my last question is how to install a new psu if my motherboard just have a 8 pin in

Please help

Thats the thing you need a new motherboard as well. That motherboard is proprietary to that case. We have had 1 user try to move it, it wouldn't mount, the...
First off do not bump your post. This is your only warning.

I'm going to give you the same advice I gave someone else with your identical system and wanted to make a gaming machine. Buy a new motherboard and case and do it right. You can swap over your ram and CPU and cooler.

The only way to make this work is for your case to be wide open all the time. Also there is a PSU adapter available out there to allow you to connect a normal ATX PSU to that board. So sure you can do it. And you will have a wide open case, with an expensive unsupported (physically) GPU and a PSU sitting outside with wires hanging out. Dangerously easy to have a minor accident and destroy your investment.

If you insist on it this is the adapter you need

Thanks for Being my first answer.
So.. the thing is that I'm trying to do it as sheap as possible
In that case that If i decide go for another case that will help isn't?

So... it will be
Get a new case.
Get the psu
To Move my motherboard there.
The 24 to 8 pin adapter
And the Gpu.

In case that the new case the screws doesn't fit with my motherboard can I open now holes or something?

Last.
How many watt I need the new psu.
Now what it comes with the PC is a 240 watt psu and I have a 1070 to mini that I want to run with the new setup

Any suggestion?

Thats the thing you need a new motherboard as well. That motherboard is proprietary to that case. We have had 1 user try to move it, it wouldn't mount, the ports are built into it, there is no port shield.

If you have a weak budget a H110M motherboard and a cheap Corsair case will cost you under $100. Then a good 450w PSU such as the Corsair CX450M will finish the job for you.
