Hello,

What is the optimal case for a gaming computer and is there a minimal price I should have in mind?

IMHO Cases really are personal opinion/choice. As long as you're not getting a sealed-up brick, anyway :)

I got an Antec 300, which looks like an Office PC case to me, but the airflow is good and I love the clean smooth lines.

I spent $50 shipped for it.

Go full tower man
chances are if you buy a case in the 100-200 mark you might as well go full tower for better air flow/cooling. Also the case will pretty much last 10-20yrs time will be re-useable for future upgrades.

I also vote for full tower (if you can afford it, have the space, and dont expect to move it much that is).

The reason is basicly the options to do more.
Also full tower gives you the chance to cut in, and add aditional fans "where you want them".

full tower = more money for its value in the long term run.
Dont be stingy when it comes to cases because a good case can last 4ever.
Dont 4get how the top end vdu cards are massive
also coolers are really big too as they take up so much space.
pleny of good full tower case in 150-200 mark

thermaltake mk1
nzxt phantom
corsair 650
coolermaster hafx series

these are brilliant cases. i like the phantom.

Personal choice, what features do you want, expandability etc.

The interior of cases is so cut and paste these days.

Really though, cases don't matter a huge amount to 'performance', unless there are some glaring problems with air flow.
