Optimal cpu with motherboard

Hi guys, I've been meaning to upgrade my processor as it is the only part of my pc that falls behind and I was wondering which processor should I choose? Right now I have an 8350 fx and it isn't giving me the optimal experience and I thought about ryzen but then I would have to change 80 % of my rig. I would like to switch to intel preferably i7 (if it is even possible with my mobo). So my question is which cpu's would be compatible with my rig:

Mobo: Gigabyte 990FXA-UD5
Graphics card: 1070 GTX
RAM: 32 GB
Cooler: Noctua nh-d15
CPU: 8350 fx (although it is of little relevance)

None. You need a new Rig.

You already have the top recommended processor for your motherboard and Intel processors are not compatible with AMD motherboards.

If you're going for the newest hardware (which I'd recommend), then yes. You can try to sell your current hardware to help make up the cost.

That depends on your budget. If you can afford the top end Intel processor, why not? If not, then look to the AMD Ryzen/Intel Core I5 processors at your discretion.
