I want to improve the graphics card and would like to know what would be the best option for PC that I have?

Best GPU? Well if you can overclock your CPU to 3.0GHz or more than that best would be 1030/1050 for now or wait to new generation of Nvidia GPU's to come out, amd alternative are RX 550/560.
Now you can buy used cards like GTX 960/970, R7 265.

You're going to be CPU limited on anything higher than a 1060 on the Nvidia side. You'd be best served by considering an upgrade to more current gear.

A 1050Ti would be the most I'd bother pairing with a Core2. The old Core2 architecture simply doesn't have the per-core CPU throughput and low memory latency modern games require to perform well.
