Hi there - I wonder if there are any new developments regarding a hardware configuration for FSX? I am considering an Intel i7 processor with Windows 7 Home Premium - but what is the general opinion wrt the most reliable Graphics cards to obtain optimum performance when running FSX? Hope somebody might help.

I believe that it was determined before that FSX was CPU limited rather than GPU limited. This was at the time of Core 2's with SLi 8800GT's. The 8800GT's were plenty fast, but the cpu then was holding it back.

If you:
- Have or want to buy the 3DVision kit (the eyeglasses with the IR receiver)
- Run CUDA applications

Go for nVidia.

If you:
- Want the Eyefinity setup (run 3 monitors or more)
- A bit lower power consumption (10W difference or less compared to nvidia video cards)

Go for AMD/ATi.
