I have the optiplex 7040 small form and it comes with a 180W power supply is this my only other option to upgrade? (seen in link)

or are there other non dell PSU's that will fit?
I am looking at purchasing a GTX 1050 to be able to play games like state of decay 2 and dead frontier 2. I am not very computer savy btw.

EDITED: Took actual pics of inside of my PC and uploaded them to Imgur I assume it's the small form as the dimensions of the case are the same.

Thank you for any recommends you can give. Wasn't sure if I should've posted this here or in components.

That is about the best PSU you'll find for a replacement. Its 18 amp +12v rail is about the minimum you'll want for adding the GTX 1050. My Optiplex 790 SFF came with Dell's 240W with a 17.5 amp +12v rail. It handled my GTX 1050 Ti low profile fine.

As to physically fitting, you will need a low profile GTX 1050 if your PC is really a small form factor (SFF). But the link you provided is actually showing a mini tower.

Dell made an XE2 SFF with a 315W PSU that had a 6 pin PCIe cable. IDK if you can find a low profile GTX1060 but a 1050 should be easy.

Notice that it only has 3 cables. 8 pin MB header, 4 pin CPU, and 6 pin PCIe. If this matches yours it should be OK.
You can shop around if you like. I just used that link because they had a clear photo.
Google the Dell VX372 number and you have lots of choices.

Thanks and Oops. I took some pics and edited the original post with a link to my imgur with the images.

Thanks I will take a look :)

You missed my point - there is a decision discussion, upgrade to Dell 240 watt or non Dell 315 watt. I meant to say that Dell 240 watt is enough for Zotac GTX 1050TI.

Grr, I overlooked/forgot about it, what I meant to say, 240watt option was designed for multiple Optiplexes including 7040, second one, 315watt, was designed for Optiples XE2, which is a different machine.

But at the end, anything is better than original 180watt.

Yeah, that is the SFF. Grab the 240W or 315W that was mentioned. You should be good for any of the 1050/1050 Ti low profile cards you find.
