Hey there, Im hoping to buy a temporary card to upgrade my current one, I have a dell optiplex 755 with a Radeon HD6450 Running with a core 2 duo processor e6600 and a 275 watt PSU, I wanna buy the GeForce 9800GT That I will be using for one week only, any thoughts?

As long as you never run any 3d applications you should be fine running this for one week. As soon as the 3d video kicks on, I would expect your system to brown out / BSOD / reset.

I am not sure why you would buy a video card to use "for one week" additionally the 9800 GT is going on 5 years old. But if you really have to, just do not install the drivers for the video card it should be stuck in SVGA compatibility mode, which will not allow 3d.

If you really need a new video card to work in your 755, you should buy either a standard or half height (depending on your chassis type) AMD 7750, or NVidia GT 640. both of these cards are low enough in the power requirements that they work in this system.

Understandable, but with a 275W PSU, the 9800GT will most likely kill the power supply and take components with it when you play a game.

To be honest I would suggest saving up for a modern PSU as well.

If you are saving up for a 7750, then why would you buy a 9800? Like I said, as long as you don't install drivers, the video card will be forced into 2d / svga only mode so you should be able to use the card, but I wouldn't pay money for it.

I used research and found I cant really upgrade this PSU, something about being propretery, So i opted out for that GT 640 instead, Ima buy that one, and when Im able, i will get the 7750, im just not really that patient lol ><

There are 4 form factors for this model, mini tower, desktop, small form factor and ultra small form factor. Mini tower is the best to describe this way - DVD drive is parallel to the floor when PC is standing (normal looking case but very small), the rest form factors DVD drive is vertical when PC is standing.
From your correct answer depends everything, mini tower power supply is upgradable and video card is full height, desktop and small form factor power supply is not upgradable and video card should be low profile or you should use riser (but there are no real benifits for riser anyway), and ultra small form factor power supply is not upgradable and there are no PCIE slot at all.
So which form factor you have?! It is very important.
