is it by any means possible to install optiplex 755 bios on its bigger brother 760 ? and why ?
the reason i wanna do this is that my 760 has a bios glitch that was reported by nearly all 760 owners that it doesn't work with external gpu as the machine doesn't disable onboard vga "and i tried all the stuff that u might recommend like bios options and drivers", but 755 works fine so i thought the problem would be solved if i installed its bios instead !
thnx in advance.

Solution
There were 2 different motherboards for the 760MT . One of them was 2 core only and probably has a 65W CPU limit. It was # M858N. I don't know the other. Maybe a BIOS mismatch due to that? I came across #G214D for 760 MT That's probably the 4 core part.
C27VV is the Opti 780MT MB and looks identical to the 760 except for DDR3 memory.
You didn't say if you had MT,DT,SFF, or USFF size 760. maybe only one size has this issue?

thnx for replying
the video card is gt 730 1gb ddr5 and i'm now very confused as it's listed in the link u provided !
i have tried to downgrade bios from a16 to a15 but not more than this i might give it a try to downgrade it more , but is it ok to install the 755 bios ?

Did you try booting into Safe Mode (F8) and remove the old GPU drivers. Then install the new card. Boot into SAFE MODE w/ Internet and load the latest drivers. Every GPU should run in Safe Mode.
The wrong BIOS is very risky. If one chip on the MB doesn't work with it you might brick your system. I would never try that.
There have actually been people who forgot to move the VGA cable to the new video card and posted here.

trust me it's not the ordinary problem u might face, it's that the pc won't start -even in safe mode- unless u take off the external gpu , it says that u have a displayport attached while pcie express card attached even i don't attach any displayport or any stuff and yes i attach the vga to the external gpu not to the onboard one that's why i started searching for other solutions , but thanx alot for trying to help,

mine is sff and most of reports were on the sff so your right it might be that version only that has the issue
