Hey guys,

I recently got my hands on a Optiplex 760. When I turn it on I get a screen which says "Windows boot manager" which lets me choose the OS instead of booting straight into thee OS. I went into the bios "F2" where I changed it to boot straight to my HDD however I rebooted and it still goes to the Windows manger. Please Respond ASAP!
-Thanks

Your Optiplex may have, or may have had in the past, two versions of Windows installed in a "dual boot" configuration. That's why the Windows Boot Manager always appears. Changing the first boot device in BIOS Setup to HDD isn't going to make a scrap of difference to the Boot Manager.

If you know that one version of Windows has since been removed from the hard drive & you're sure there's only one version currently installed, you can edit the Boot Manager file in Windows to stop the Boot Manager from appearing.

In Windows:

Start > Run
Type MSCONFIG & press <Enter>
Click the BOOT tab.
Highlight the redundant Windows line (the version that no longer exists) & click the Delete button.
Click 'OK'

Finally, restart Windows.
