Optiplex 790 graphics upgrade?

hi just wanted to find i have a opitples 790 6 gig ram I5 2400 @3.10ghz (4CPUs) i want to upgrade my graphics card with a msi gt620 1gb.will my power supply be a problem as it only 250 watts.plz help

Each system has what's called minimum system requirements. You need to look up the minimum requirements on that card and see if your Optiplex can handle it. However, from first glance, it honestly doesn't look like it.

Honestly my Optiplex 790 can run a GTX 750 on an i3 model. (i3-2100 to be exact.)
I'm not sure about any other models but I'm not the expert here.

If anyone is still interested, I have this optiplex 790 sff, and I put a GT 720 in it.

Keep in mind the psu says it can supply only 17AMPS on 12v. Even my GT 720 (19w) is reccomended on a psu that supplies atleast 20 amps. Although, the manual for this pc states you can add a Radeon HD 6450(19w), so Dell thinks thats okay, probabily my much superior GT 720 is fine too and evga is just overstating what it needs. Its working just fine, decent card.

But a GTX 750 ti, even if it worked for many ppl, may be pushing this psu and cause problems later, I predict.

BTW the GT 720 is the best card under 20w you'll find.
