Question Optiplex 9010 4" wide case - Need to block the CPU fan vents

I have a Dell Optiplex 9010 4" wide case (not the SFF and not the 'wide' version" case).
The CPU vents on the side. I need to put it on a shelf with another CPU that is right next to it, which will block the side CPU fan.

I really dont want to change the CPU heat sink, cooler etc. Is there any mod I can make (adding fans, vents, etc) to the current design to help the CPU vent?

If you want to block off vents, duct tape is a potential solution.
I've used it in the past.

A black case, black tape is almost invisible.

Now...if you're trying to do something other than "block the CPU fan vents".....some more detail would help.
Pictures of what you're trying to do will REALLY help.

No, quite serious.
For blocking off vents, it is quick and easy.

Im not trying to block the vents - the other tower that is right next to it is doing that. What I am saying is that I dont like the idea of blocking the CPU fan vents with anything, but they are being obstructed by the other tower. So the question is short of changing the whole CPU cooler what else can I do to divert that vent or add extra ventilation to compensate?

• The current CPU fan is almost flush with the vent holes.
• I will probably add another case fan, but looking for some other suggestions.
