Question PSU upgrade for Dell Optiplex ?

hello to anyone interested! just joined because i cant find the answer i needed.
So i got this Dell Optiplex 7010 SFF for free and I'm trying to upgrade its PSU.
I've tried a 800w PSU and the PC stays black screened and not booting.

Then i tried to use the PSU from my HP Omen 870-244 but had same issue, but when I use the Dell's stock PSU it works fine again.

Is there a specific type of PSU I've got to buy? I'm looking for a 500w PSU, so if you guys know one that'll work let me know thanks!!

That's odd, mine's different when I tried looking it up it turns out mine is an Optiplex 7010 MT DT model and here's the link to the psu. it's about 1 year old and the other power supply i used was from an HP Omen 870-244

but it's an 850w FSP Dagger Pro Mini ITX. I thought it was 800w, guess not lol.

i just wanna upgrade it to install a gtx 1650 to give the pc away to my gfs little brother since hes been wanting a gaming pc so i thought id build a budget one for him

be sure to plug in both main cables to the PSU side (18pin plus 10pin)
the other side is 20pin plus 4pin to the motherboard
and the CPU plug (8pin on PSU side and 4pin plus 4pin) to the 4pin header of the motherboard, the 8pin is split into two 4pin connectors. Only one will fit

Optiplex's are not intended to be used for gaming, they are designed and built to be office machines. This is why expansion is limited (very).

ahh no wonder it was given to me free, you think the orignal psu is strong enough to run the gpu? its a zotac 1650 low profile
