He probably got oral cancer from his smoking they mentioned in the article as that is much, much more common than getting oral cancer from HPV. Oral cancer from HPV certainly has happened but it is not very common. You absolutely can't cure it by continuing to engage in the "recreational activities" that caused it in the first place. All you would do is risk passing HPV to the partner or contracting whatever STI they have in your mouth since HPV-irritated tissue is more vulnerable to STIs. (I've seen it. Not fun at all!) I think he is just being another has-been Hollywood idiot who is trying to get his name back out there by saying something ridiculous because he blew his money on blow.
