CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core AM4 3.70 GHz Unlocked CPU Processor
Mobo: ASUS TUF Gaming X570 Plus WiFi AM4 ATX Motherboard
RAM: Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB (2x32GB) DDR4 2400MHz C16 1.2V XMP 2.0 Black Desktop Gaming Memory AMD Optimized CMK64GX4M2A2400C16

I've been running this machine for a while with 2x 32GB and ordered a second identical set so I can have 128GB total. After installing the new 2x 32GB sticks, I get the orange DRAM light immediately after powering on and it never posts. Installing only one set (2x 32GB) of either the new or existing ram and powering on will allow it to post as normal. It seems to work with either set of 2x 32GB ram regardless of whether slots A1/B1 or A2/B2 are used. The CMK64GX4M2A2400C16 is QVL for 1 or 2 dimms, but not 4. I've also tried installing 1 dimm from the old set and 1 from the new which lets it successfully post and boot.

I've updated my bios to the latest version and cleared the cmos but it didn't help. Are there any other troubleshooting steps I can try to get it working with all 4 modules? or am I out of luck

Thanks for your consideration.

you might want to place both ram kits side by side(new and old) and take note of the PCB revision numbers. Corsair is the only brand that has a PCB revision number for their rams since they source ram IC"s from a gamut of OEM's as thy see favorable prices. If the PCB versions are different, that's why you can't work with both, as you're essentially mixing and matching different IC'd ram.

Thank you for the welcoming!

You were right, my original set were v5.49 and the new ones are v5.42. The really strange thing is, I can install one of the new sticks and one of the old ones and it'll post & boot just fine. But it doesn't with all 4 in for some reason.

I just updated the bios to v5003.
