Ordered my 980. Will I need these to connect ?

Hi, I ordered my Zotac 980 AMP Extreme Edition . Now, I dont know which connector should I use from the PSU . But I saw a video on youtube and found out I need 2x 6 pin connector.

I need those two connectors for connecting the GPU to the PSU right ?
Also I have a Cooler Master 700 W PSU. Will it be enough for the GPU ?

I am kinda newbie when it comes to hardware installation , hence asking you guys.

your psu should have the necessary connectors (you need 2 8 pin) and the 700 watts is more than enough for that unless you have like a thousand hard drives

I checked on the official nvidia site and it says I need 2x 6 pin connectors .

yes however your not getting a reference card so zotac thought 8 pins were needed

Oh yea my bad, I just checked and you are right . It needs 2x 8 pins. I guess my PSU have this connector.

Btw, I will be doing 2 way SLI in future.
So, have I done the right thing by ordering the 980 AMP Extreme ? Its the best product from all other 980 types right ?

really it comes down to preference really. I have heard good things aboot (canadian joke 😛) zotac but for sli two 980's I would get a good psu (I m not sure which one you have) I know you said a corsair 700watt but corsair has a bunch of psu series and I would go with a 750 watt or higher

Yeah when I will be doing SLI , I will be getting a more powerful PSU , like 1000 W.

Also , is the 8 pin connector a single connector or is it 6 pin + 2 pin ?

not a problem to save you the headache of choosing a psu I would suggest the EVGA PSU's I own one and its been great and they have great warranties available depending on of course what you choose as a product
