Hi all,

I'm just about ready to do a nice little upgrade. It's been awhile (as you can see from my specs below). Just thought I'd post here for some quick tips, comments ect. First off, I will not be needing a monitor, hard drive, OS, keyboard, mouse or speakers. I will be needing a video card, but I plan on ordering that later in the month when I get the cash. Basically what I listed is around my budget. I am willing to flucate though if there is a much better option for a little more money (example "get the i7 so and so opposed to the i5 you chose" ect).

I am not positive if the motherboard I picked is the right choice either, I just went off of a lot of positive reviews and recommendations. I WILL plan on overclocking in the near future when I set myself up with some decent cooling when I get the chance. I am a gamer, so obviously want games to run and look great 😉.

Basically I have a few questions.

- Have I chosen some decent parts below for my build? What can be improved upon in or around the same price range?

- What video card should I pair with this system? I will be gaming at 1920x1080. I was thinking about going with the Radeon 7870 tahiti. I'd like to stay in the $250-350 range for this.

- Is my power supply capable of running this system? I spent about 170 on it back in 07 and it has been great for me.

- What can I expect out of my new system?

Here is my current system specs

Q6600 2.4ghz
8 gb ddr2 800 ram
Nvidia GTX 460 1 gb fermi
Corsair 620HX 620W PSU
Crucial m4 128 gb SSD
WD 1 TB HD
Rosewill Thor Full ATX case

Upgrade parts

- CPU Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor

- Motherboard ASRock Z77 Extreme4 ATX LGA1155 Motherboard

- Memory Corsair Vengeance 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory

I really appreciate any help what so ever. I really look forward to this new build as my old system served me so well these past 5 years.

ur cpu and motherboard choice is great im using both rite now i oced my i5 3570k to 4.2 and still runs at max 70C on heavy load (i only have hyper 212 evo as cooling you can go lower since u have liquid cool). RAMS look good loved the vengence. For graphics around 200 range i would go for GTX 760. but if you can spend around 360 dollars you can get a sapphire 7970 or maybe even cheaper since that card always goes on promotion and sales. I got my 7970 ghz edition arouhd 340 with $120 game bundle
