Where can I get info on the original cty file format of Sim City (classic)?

Any other sim city related formats are apreciated, too.

I don't know where you can get info.
Here are a few that I know:

..cty - SimCity classic cities, recognized by Classic and 2000
..sc2 - SimCity 2000 Cities, recognized by 2000 and 3000
..sc3, .sc4 - 3000 and 4, respectively. Only recognized by their
respective version of SimCity.
