Q6600 @ 3Ghz (FSB 333) 1.3625V
ASUS P5KC

Everytime I run orthos with Small FFTs and set the second instance's affinity to Core 2 & 3, that instance of orthos stops, everything else is stable tho, she won't crash for anyone.

And bumping up the Vcore doesnt help, plus it gets WAY to hot for my liking.

Do I need to admit defeat and lower my fsb? 2.8 perhaps? 🙁

Thanks.

have you tried prime 95? Your vCore shold be high enough to handle 3ghz. 1.3625 is sufficient to get stability at 3.4 with my q6700. Have you tried OCCT? It just sounds like something may be wrong with your orthos.

Prime does the same thing. Maybe I'm missing something?

Let me know if you need more info and I'll supply it. I'm new to OCing so I don't know what might be helpful.

Ram is at 4-4-4-12 @ 400 (So 4:5, I believe), but the voltage is set to auto...

I'll try loosening the timings to 5-5-5-15 @ 333 , but what about the voltage? Should I have it at 1.8V for 5-5-5-15 @ 333 and 2.2V for 4-4-4-12(or 14) @ 400?

I'll have results later today when I get off work.

nothing over 53C on the hottest core. But nothing over 73C on full load.

I know thats a little too hot, but Orthos crashes before that. Also, only the 2 and 3 core affinity Orthos crashes, and those cores are always the lowest, 68C or so.

BUT - OCCT does crash as soon as anything hits 70C, even tho I've set the max to 75C in the settings.

Did Memtest for several hours with no probelms...

maybe increasing your north bridge vcore may help, try to put like +0.05v or the closest to +0.05v your mobo allow it. hope it works ^^
