OS and HDD

Can my current OS be passed on to my new skylake build? Do I need to format my HDD in order to use it?

Hi there that_modder,

If you place your OS hard drive in your new build, you will most probably get a BSOD as the hardware is completely different.
You need to back up all the data stored on the drive and perform a clean OS install.
