I have 2 monitors, both Asus. One is the Swift 1st gen, and a VG248QE. Anyways the Swift is connected to my gpu as a displayport while the VG248QE is connectedd by DVI-I. The Swift is set as the primary monitor but when the computer boots up it loads into the VG248QE until the windows login screen appears, then it switches to the Swift. I have a Asus V Rampage 1st gen mobo and I tried going into the BIOS but I don't know what to do.

Solution
There may be nothing you can do. The video card is in a default state. Apparently, the DVI port is considered the base port. There is nothing wrong with what is happening.

So if I want to stop booting from second monitor, I will need to get a DVI to displayport/hdmi adapter? or will that not work also.

Your hardware is initializing in the order it was designed to. Changing the cable or getting a dvi adapter won't change that.

Derp lol, not sure why I was thinking of getting a adapter when my monitor can utilize hdmi and displayport as well. I found a spare hdmi to hdmi cable laying around and now my main monitor boots up first. Though the cable only lets it use up to 60hz. I guess I am going to have to go buy a displayport to displayport cable.
