OS (C) drive has 8/180 GB free, Windows file is 90GB

My computer is four years old but still runs well. The problem I am running into is that I have no more space on my SSD harddrive. I have 183 GB of space for the C drive and 90GB of that is taken up with the Windows folder and 40GB by the Program Files folders.

A 90GB Windows file seems way to big. I have been looking on the forum but have not found an answer. I already ran a Disk Cleanup and clear my temp folder

The only option left I can think of is a backup and clean reinstall but I really do not want to as I have a few programs on my computer that I would never get back if I did that. (also it would be a pain).

Does anyone have an alternative before I factory reset my computer?

Start by using the "disk cleanup" option on the properties of the drive. Also check your system restore settings. That is often where a lot of space is used.

I already ran Disk cleanup (it removed ~5 GB of data) I just did it again and it removed another 1.2GB from the same categories I selected the first time.

It looks like most of the space are .msg files from outlook, except I do not use outlook. I use gmail.
All the data is under C:\Windows\CCM\ServiceData\Messaging\EndpointQueues\LS_ScheduledCleanup

It looks like tons of "0000AN0#.msg" and "0000AN0#.que" files. Is it okay to just delete these files. Also there must be a root problem causing the file build up, do you have any ideas?

Somehow, you have 60GB of .msg files.
Where did they come from? What email address are they addressed to?
Why is your system checking an email address you do not use?

Personally, I wouldn't just 'delete' something unless I knew why it was there and where it came from.

Time for you to do some investigation on those files, and see whats up.

USAFRET, I did some investigating last night. Apparently, the .msg is used but it doesn't actually mean the Outlook mail application. The files have something to do with SMS Agent Host service and the SCCM client/SCCM server but this is a personal computer not attached to a server network.

Recently I also have noticed SMS Agent host sometimes consumes 100% the disk space (using aroung 25 mb/s) and slows down the computer. These two problems are probably connected.

If anyone knows a reference about SMS Agent Host Service, or SCCM that would be helpful. The information I have found is not detailed enough.

Those .msg files and that folder speaks to it wanting to contact a SCCM server, and failing. Those .msg and .que are the log files of it failing.

A utility program used to download other programs had not been uninstalled fully/properly. The files were error messages that were being sent by that program which also used SMS agent host service.
