Hi. I've been having an issue with my computer where it has slowed down a bit and it's very noticeable. It is slower to open certain files or pages but not all. Also, when i place the cursor over a link or menu line and click on it, it does nothing and I have to continue to click until it catches on. Again, it does not do this all the time but maybe more than 50 % of the time. Last, when i place the cursor on the back page arrow it usually takes me to the page previous to the last one. That happens when i place the cursor over the arrow and click on it but if i place the cursor over said arrow and wait two seconds it takes me to the previous page 100% of the time. This shouldn't be happening as I have a fairly fast system, i5 6600 cpu, 16gb of memory, Asus Trix 9800Ti video card, and a new Samsung 970 Plus SSD. To top it all, I don't have a lot of files or photos saved in my system so it should be a lot faster than it is right now. Do i have a corrupted OS? Any other ideas? Thank you for your time.

Solution
this can check OS
right click start button
choose powershell (admin)
type SFC /scannow and press enter
once its completed, copy/paste this command into same window:

Repair-WindowsImage -Online -RestoreHealth
and press enter

SFC fixes system files, second command cleans image files (image files are used by Windows to reinstall itself after a reset or fix broken system files), re run SFC if it failed to fix all files before the second command was run, and restart PC

Run this and post a link to the results................PC Benchmark

Note: The issues i listed at the beginning started to happen before I swapped SSD drives. I'm highly suspicious of a corrupted OS but i'm not technical enough to make that determination much less fix the issue. A buddy of mine is planning to access my computer remotely and try to diagnose the cause. He thinks is in the settings.

I ran it but after a little bit it came back with an error message. Something about an " and " entry. I'm afraid i'm reaching my limits here. I'm gping to talk to a friend to see if he can take it from here.

Colif, my buddy was able to make some time yesterday and he accessed my computer remotely. He worked on it for awhile. Cleaned up a bunch of stuff and even ran the SFC/scannow . My computer is definetely more responsive and faster after that. I really appreciate your effort to help me. I think i'm good now.
