OS for a Mini Laptop

Pls I need an OS for a mini laptop that has 1.2ghz processor and 1gb ram.

I just installed xp sp3 but I'm a little concerned about safety since microsoft doesn't support it anymore, well chrome firefox and opera dont work either i'm worried about that too.. so please i need help

you could go for linux xubuntu is a good lightweight option, Chromium OS or remix OS

If all the above are a bit too heavy or you cant get used to them, try puppy linux
