We are started a free computer recycling business. We destroy the hard drive on site. So I need an OS to used to run intel diag tool. Down loading windows to a new hard drive is a pain. Does Linux have such a system or the equiv anent to intel diag tools. I just want to remove and destroy hard drive. Run a diagnoisis on the CPU and Mother board and be done.

The Intel processor diagnostic tool is only compatible with Windows. Nothing else.

There are no other tools similar to the Intel processor diagnostic tool, in fact, AMD does not even have something similar for AMD processors.

The closest thing would probably be something like a combination of Prime95 Blend mode and Realbench.

I'm curious as to why you would need any of this in order to destroy hard drives and recycle hardware. Recycling doesn't generally involve testing the hardware to make sure it works. That is more like "repurposing", which could be construed as fraud if you advertise that you "recycle" the hardware but in truth are pulling the useful hardware and then using it to build used machines minus the hard drives. I think you'll need to make me a believer if you want this to survive being whacked.

What is the lowest Windows version this tool runs on? "Find" an OEM version of Windows, and create unattended install script. Slap some cheap SSD, Boot off USB, and in ten minutes you'll have installed Windows. You can even slip-stream this utility' installation. If you keep a couple of SSDs around for various chipsets, you can even try just plugging proper SSD and boot.
