Hello. I have some issues here guys. Looking back I created a bootable stick (Windows XP SP2) but my pc cannot detect it. It says "An operating system wasn't found. Try disconnecting any drives that don't contain an operating system. Press Ctrl+Alt+Del to restart".

How did I create the bootable stick? (I just followed the steps in the image i got from the web, that is not actually my system)

then I just copied all the files from the Windows XP SP2 CD.

Note:

I bought an old working motherboard (asus p5q se rev. 1.02g) to replace the defective old one on my pc. Then I realized i need to install a fresh OS with the new motherboard.

My questions:

Why was the bootable stick not detected by my pc?
Do the steps in creating the bootable disk I followed not right?
What do you guys think?
Also I wanna know if motherboards like the one i bought requires that the bootable stick be NTFS OR FAT32? Does this question makes sense?

Solution
The diskparts steps were to prepare the USB drive but simply formatting it from the drive properties or disk management would have done the same and done much simpler... then copying the Windows CD to the USB drive is not enough.. you need to:

1. Create a bootable ISO image from the Windows CD files with software such as IMG Burn which adds the bootable code, and next...

2. Create the USB installer with a USB Installer maker such as Rufus, Win to Flash, Universal USB Installer Maker, etc.
