Hello there,

I have a quick question. I am going to reinstall my os tomorrow as i want to format my pc and i am thinking of installing the os on a different drive compared to other files (games, software erc.)
I am thinking of doing this as i have multiple storage units.

My specs are:

CPU: Ryzen 7 2700x
GPU: 5700xt nitro +
Memory: 32GB Corsair vengeance 3200 mhz
Storage: Kingston 250gb Sata III SSD
SAMSUNG 970 evo 1TB

(I listed all of the specs just so i can provide all of the info out of the gate)

What i am thinking is of installing windows on the Kingston drive and use the Samsung drive for games and other files.

I know that the m.2 is way faster so i also thought to install windows on the Samsung alongside the games and install stuff like clients, discord etc. on the Kingston one to take load away at startup ( i use discord and spotify on start-up)

I am looking forward to your answers, my main purpose is to get the fastest boot and performance for my system.

Thank you in advance for your time!

PS: if you have any tips for improving the overall performance of a system on a fresh install, feel free to mention them as well 😊

OS and applications should go on the same drive.
Your personal data and games can go on other drives.

There is no benefit to splitting the OS and applications.

Put a couple of games on the 250GB Kingston.
