OS License Status If Restore Win 7 Over Win 10 From A disk Image

On a legacy Acer laptop, if I restore Win 7 over Win 10 will I run into problems with the OS registration with Microsoft? I.e., will the Win 7 be consider an illegitimate install? Win 7 previously was a legitimate install. Win 10 was a legitimate upgrade but renders the laptop unusable because it consumes too many resources. Everytime it is booted up it spends hours and hours on updates, first checking for, then downloading, then installing, and re downloading because an install failed, and so on.

Win 7 license was nullified by the 10 upgrade you need to install 10.
