3 days ago my laptop updated automatically and the Windows button quit working, then today my screen froze and when I turned it back on it went to a black screen saying "no operating system". When I go into BIOS my SSD isn't recognized, but I'm hoping it's not my drive since windows was screwing up. Any help/ideas would be awesome.

Hi there bkw2694,

The fact that the drive is not recognized even by BIOS, is not really a good sign.

If the recovery/repair options do not work, then there could be something wrong with the SSD. My suggestion would be to attach the drive to another system and see whether the drive would be recognized and accessible.

Cheers,

So I'm about to attempt the recovery/repair options they listed, but I noticed Vaio is specifically mentioned. I have a Vaio Duo 11 that originally had W8.1, should I use the Vaio recovery option or the Windows 10 option near the bottom of the page?

Thanks for the link!
