Question OS not found: Will running boot file repairs delete other files on the nvme?

Reference:
Samsung SSD 970 evo plus 1tb
ASUS ROG Strix x570e
Windows 10 (I beleive)
Boot option 1 is showing M.2_1: Samsung 970

I left my PC on got back from a shower to find a black screen that said:"Operating System wasn't found, try disconnecting any drives that dont contain an OS"

I disconnected my other drive the HDD and booted, now the boot message says:
"Reboot and Select proper Boot device or Insert Boot Media in Selected Boot device and press a key"

Not sure why there's a change in message, planning to run the following in the advanced repair command prompt from a USB Media creation tool.

bootrec.exe /fixmbr
bootrec.exe /fixboot
bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd

Just wanted to know, will running that compromise any other files in the nvme? My priority is to save the files on the drive.

Should I first put an HDD that has windows on it from my other PC to see if I can recover files from the ssd?

Should I run CHKDSK and/or SFC first? I ran both without fixing, and both found errors or integrity violations. Main concern for not running these is again saving data on the drive.

Extra info:

Everything prior the 10 min shower was working perfectly, except the windows search bar at the bottom left wasn't working. I also installed some python libraries (all looked safe) through the conda prompt. Only off thing I did was accidentally do an install through pip instead of forge. I don't see how this could have caused this.

This was an indication that the OS was corrupt. Go into BIOS and see if Windows Boot Manager is listed in your bootable devices. If it's listed, choose that as your primary boot device.
