My old laptop has an 18.2 gb ssd and it used to be fine for windows 8.1. Now I can't install anything! My secondary drive is 500gb 7200rpm, my old one died and I replaced it. I wouldn't mind but many apps don't let me choose install location. Should I just install my os on my 500gb?

Solution

At most, have it simply as a secondary drive.
Maybe direct your Docs library to it.
Or use it as scratch space for your video or photo processing applications.
Or put your pagefile on it.
Or take it out, and mount it on the wall as an art piece.

A 30GB SSD drive is pretty useless by itself.

18.2GB drive?
Not even a little bit.

Yes, you should install that OS on the 500GB drive.
